In the Intermediate level course, swimmers will continue to master all the developmental areas of swimming:

  • Aquatic Comfort
  • Body Coordination
  • Stroke Technique
  • Stamina and Momentum

Swimmers will continue their learning through advanced swim drills and organized group activities. Course participants will hone in on more specific stroke technique for both freestyle and backstroke, rhythmic breathing, sidestroke, breaststroke, and start learning foundations of butterfly. Other essential skills will include learning about swimming etiquette, circle swimming, and basic understanding of utilizing the time clock.

Strokes developed upon in this level are:

  • Freestyle (Bilateral Breathing)
  • Backstroke
  • Breaststroke
  • Sidestroke
  • Dolphin Kick 25 yards

The emphasis is on deep-water confidence, stamina with swim stroke technique, treading water, surface diving, and diving from the side.
